How does xeo® laser therapy work?
xeo® laser therapy works by sending brief pulses of light to each varicose and spider vein. The energy causes the blood within the vein to form a mass. This destroys the blood vessel, which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow is then redirected to veins deeper below the surface of your skin, which is right where we want it to be.
What to expect with xeo® laser treatment
When you arrive at Siti Med Spa in San Diego for your first xeo® laser treatment, our highly trained medical staff will be happy to answer any last minute questions you may have. Then, the areas you wish to have treated will be cleansed in preparation for the procedure. Cooling pads, and then a thin coat of clear gel, are applied to the skin just before the laser pulses are quickly administered to the unwanted varicose and spider veins.
At Siti Med Spa, we strive to make your xeo® laser treatments as comfortable as possible. While most patients report little discomfort, some experience a mild burning or tingling sensation.
The length of the procedure can range from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the depth of the veins and the area or areas to be treated. After treatment, you may experience redness where the laser was applied, but don’t worry – it will likely fade by the next day. Many patients even return to work just hours after leaving our office.
How many xeo® treatments will I need?
In most cases, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient for treating varicose and spider veins. However, individual results will vary. The amount of treatments necessary depends on a number of factors including the color and size of the vessels being treated.
